This month we are kicking off our Innovation Focus series on the Virginia Health Innovation Network. What does this mean exactly? Every other month we’ll be highlighting a particular health innovation topic and asking Network members to share their ideas, perspectives, and experiences on that topic through a brief member survey. The following month, we’ll share a summary of the results on the Innovation Network. We hope the Innovation Focus series will help us build a stronger community and provide an opportunity to learn from our colleagues. We also hope the survey results will make Innovation Network members scratch their heads, engage in a discussion with other members, or share a innovation.
September’s Innovation Focus is Patient-Centered Care. We chose to start with patient-centered care because at some point, we are all patients. We want to know what patient-centered care means to you. Some of our professional affiliations and roles either providing care or paying for care may greatly (and appropriately) influence our opinions. Some members may think it is the solution to our fragmented health care system or contrarily that it’s a bunch of baloney. Tell us what you think – what’s working, and how you think we should work together to spread it. Join the Innovation Network to take the survey, today through September 30th.
